    • Admin

      - New wizard for changing the units system that is used by applications which, in some parts, don't have other possibility to change the unit. In such parts the default unit from the Real-time parameters defintion will be used, and it will be default unit from either SI or API selection, based the the selected unit system. Wizard can be accessed by selecting the menu option 'Tools | Change Real-time Parameter Units'.

      - New wizards for workstation backup/restore. Application now supports workstation backup and restore, on per workstation basis i.e. one can backup Real-time and Playback workstations. Backup includes parameter definitions, settings and display, report and log definitions which can be optionally selected or not. Restore offers to restore everything that was found in the previously created backup. Workstation Backup and Restore can be accessed by selecting menu options 'Workstation | Backup' and ' Workstation | Restore.'

    • ASCII Importer

Application does not exist anymore, and its functionality has been integrated in Log Draw. Please take a look at the description of additions and changes in under Log Draw section.

    • Log Draw

      - Added autowrap for comments text on the right side of the track, with break on the word boundary. One can still manually break the text at the desired place. Autowrap is active when the text orientation is 'Horizontal'.

      - Added system for private comments. They are implemented as special parameters. Each special private comment parameter can be added to the desired track. Horizontal comment position is relative to the left coordinate of the containing track. NOTE: The private comments system replaces so far used 'Comments'. So far used comments from the previous data will be shown on the log but comments can not be edited.

      - When using 'Remote Play-back Workstation' comments (among other files) are open over network which can be slow. Optimization has been made to make that as fast as possible.

      - Track selection has been made quicker by allowing the user to left-click within the track in order to select it.

      - ASCII Importer functionality has been integrated into the Log Draw. It can be accessed by selecting menu option 'Tools | Import Data'.

    • RT Graphics

      - When in 'Time Database Viewer', if 'Show in External Browser' is checked, on dialog preview is now not shown anymore which cuts down the time needed to display the report.

    • RT interface

      - So far used menu system is replaced with the 'Ribbon Bar' control.

      - Added tabs within the main view inside the RT Interface.

      - Added tab 'Real-time Parameters' to the main view that replaces so far used popup dialog 'Real-time Parameters' and allows easy setup of definition, units and filters.

      - So far used system of 'Parameter routines' and 'Parameter Options' has been replaced with more logical and powerfull 'Parameter Source' and 'Parameter Filter' system.

      - DAI: Added new type of filter for the parameter value 'Analog Filter'. This filter works on voltages and averages them based on the number of the voltage readings from the analog acquisiton board. Filter can be set independently for each of the parameters.

      - DAI: So far used Advantech acquisition system has been replaced with the new 'Advantech 'DAQ Navi' system. The new acquisition system supports Windows operating systems higher that Windows XP, including Windows 10.

      - Added possibility to optionally reset real-time time accumulations upon new bit creation. Otherwise only bit time accumulations will be reset. User is asked to confirm that real-time time accumulations are to be reset.

      - In the category 'Tools' (inside 'Ribbon Bar') added panel 'Play-back database'. Inside the panel there is an option 'Automatically write to play-back depth database'. This option allows simulataneous writting into play-back depth databases. If checked one should select play-back database folder by clicking the button 'Click to browse for database location'.

      - In the category 'Tools' (inside 'Ribbon Bar') added panel 'Hydraulics'. Inside the panel there is an option 'Autorun'. This option allows to automatically start application 'Hydra' upon 'RT Interface ' start. Inside the same panel there is also button 'Run now' to interactively run the application 'Hydra'.

      - Removed restriction that real-time parameter 'OVPL:Overpull' works only when general status is 'Tripping'. The parameter is now calculated all the time.

      - Added real-time calculation of averages for 'Weight On Bit', Revolutions Per Minute', 'Mud Flow', 'Stand Pipe Pressure' and 'Rata of Penetration versus Depth' for the current bit run. Calculated values are saved as bit statistics and trasferred by the Log Draw to the play-back workstation.

      - Menu options for reseting forced value, maximized and averaged parameters, along with the respective dialogs, have been removed. This functions are now available from the 'Real-time Parameters' tab of the main RT Interface view as 'Unforce All', 'Unmaximize all' and 'Unaverage All' buttons. Also, new option 'Un(analog)filter all' has been added to allow reseting all setup analog filters.

      - In some cases it was possible that 'Pipe Length' parameter value was increased when the drilling string was moved up and down within the 'Off-bottom' threshold. Now the 'Pipe Length' value is being changed only if 'Bit Position' parameter value gets higher that 'Hole Depth' parameter value.

      - SCI: In the category 'Communication' (inside 'Ribbon Bar') in the panel 'Options' added button 'SCI Settings'. Clicking the button opens the dialog with SCI specific settings that were removed from the 'Options' dialog.

      - SCI: 'Torque Correction Factor' entry has been removed from the 'Options' dialog and placed inside the 'SCI Settings' dialog.

      - WITS: 'Torque Correction Factor' entry has been removed from the 'Options' dialog and placed inside the 'W.I.T.S. Settings' dialog.

    • Total Gas Interface (TIFile.exe)

      - Instead of so far used command line parameter to select detector type, it is now selected from the list in the 'Settings' dialog (menu option 'View | Settings').

    • Total Gas Serial Interface (TISerial.exe)

      - Instead of so far used command line parameter to select detector type, it is now selected from the list in the 'Settings' dialog (menu option 'View | Settings').

    • Wits Out

      - Added grid columns layout manipulation and saving.

    • Lag models

Gas and Mud lagged values are now writen based on the depth intervals in the ascending order. It means that values coming from the lag models can overwrite each other inside the current depth interval. Once the next, higher interval is achieved, lag values can only be written into depth database record for that interval. This is to prevent overwritting the already recorded gas and mud lag values e.g. while circulating off bottom and moving the string up and down.

    • PEN-LAB.INI

This file is not used anymore and the settings that were in it are moved into respective application settings files.

  • PeN-LAB v6.9.0.0

    • Exporting system

      - Created new dynamic link library (DLL) to support exporting from multiple applications.

      - Exporting system supports exporting to CSV (Character Separated Values) and LAS file formats.

      - Currently Log Draw and Numeric editor application are using the new DLLs functionality.

    • Deviation Survey

      - Based on the data for the planned and measured trajectories application now calculates difference between the planned and measured paths, so called ‘Vertical Section’.

      - Added new column in numeric printout for Vertical Section value.

      - The hole bottom coordinates printout is now optimized so that the coordinates are now grouped in two columns.

      - Added Vertical Section value to exported data.

      - Made curve lines for planned and measured trajectories thicker.

    • Log Draw

      - Created new Numeric Report Definition Editor (menu option ‘Edit | Numeric Report Definition’) that is used for numeric reporting and also provides exporting functionality.
Numeric Report Definition Editor now uses grid control and a pair of list boxes that provides very good set of user friendly features.

      - Added menu option ‘File | Auto Open Last Log’
If this menu option is checked then the last log which was open in the Log Draw will be automatically reopened upon next program start in order to speed up the operations.

      - Added menu option ‘View | Auto Refresh’.
On selecting this menu option small configuration dialog opens that allows you to activate auto refreshing and enter the interval in which the auto refresh should take refresh. Settings are automatically saved.
When auto refresh is active the application will automatically do the redrawing at the given intervals.

      - Removed warning message about not reading heading options which appeared at the program start due to not being needed anymore.

      - Added menu option ‘View | Zoom’.
On selecting this menu option small configuration dialog opens that allows you to select the zoom percentage for the log that appears on the screen. There is also option to keep the width/height ratio i.e. to save the proportions on zooming. Settings are automatically saved and reused.
Zooming allows using the whole screen area, especially on the big monitors.

      - On depth database import from the real-time database the last ‘To’ depth of the imported interval is remembered and displayed on the ‘Import Options [Depth Database]’ dialog (menu option ‘Data | Import Depth Database’). If, on the next import, entered ‘From’ depth is less than or equal to last ‘To’ depth, warning system displays the message box with warning message. That way you have more secure depth database import warns you about possibility to overwrite the already edited depth database records on the play-back.
Each imported interval is logged into the disk file which can be viewed from the dialog by clicking the button ‘View Log’.

      - Created more detailed messages of what went wrong upon opening the graphic log definition.

    • Wits Out

Created new application from scratch that replaces so far used NL Wits Out Server.

New application brings the following key features:

      - New and modern user interface

      - ‘Single Screen’ principle i.e. do not use many dialogs that open over the initial one for each single function, settings, option or group of options.

      - Editor for definition what will be output from the application over serial communication to the connected third party application.
The editor allows creating the definition from scratch.

      - PeN-LAB real-time parameter or W.I.T.S. common parameter can be selected to the desired W.I.T.S. Level 0 record item.

      - Filtering can be selected and applied to the value.

      - New records beside the standard W.I.T.S. Level 0 records and items can be created.

      - Support for 100 records (0 ÷ 99) each containing 100 items (0 ÷ 99).

    • Numeric Editor

      - Application now allows running multiple instances of itself so that user can view/work with multiple databases or to view/work multiple times with single database.

    • Numeric Editor – Viewer

      - Read only variant of the Numeric Editor application has been created in order to provide more capabilities than so far used ‘Depth DB Viewer’ application and to replace the ‘Depth DB Viewer’ application.

    • Reporter

      - Application has been completely integrated into ‘Log Draw’ application and does not exist as a standalone anymore.

    • RT Interface

      - Default acquisition type which is set upon the application start has been changed from ‘Software Triggered’ to ‘Interrupt’. This is done because the software triggered acquisition is used in the very few cases.

    • Unit System

      - Improved precision of unit conversion factor for bar - psi, l - gal, kg/dm3 - ppg conversion.

    • Fixes

      • RT Numeric, RT Interface, RT Temporary Graphics

      • LogDraw

Left margin of graphic log print was not always properly positioned.

      • LogDraw

Left vertical line of graphic log print was not always properly displayed.

      • LogDraw

Track width calculation was slightly incorectly calculated, so that track separator and depth marker were incorectly positioned.

      • LogDraw

Numeric print to file (ASCII, LAS) was printed in first line only.

      • LogDraw

Free logs menu was not populated with free logs.
